Good stitching usually means the item will not fall apart after one or two washes. Bad lenses can cause eye strain, reflections and headache when you wear them for hours. Sometimes customer service can fix a bad experience, but not always. When it comes to eyewear, the small details really matter over time.

If they ignore basic questions or reply with copy pasted text, I become suspicious. I do not trust only the star rating, I like to see detailed photos and longer comments. Nobody wants pretty shoes that hurt after ten minutes of walking. Reviews that mention long term use are more valuable than comments written on day one. Jewelry is another category where quality can be very different from photos. For things that I use every day, I prefer to pay a bit more if the quality is stable. Price is important to me, but quality and comfort are even more important in the long run.
